A Cultural and Creative Experience at Sea
HĀ Cruise brings home education families together for four nights of cultural learning, creativity, movement, mindfulness and meaningful whānau connection.
The onboard programme will feature Māori and Polynesian workshops designed to be welcoming, interactive and suitable for homeschooling families. Families do not need any previous cultural knowledge or workshop experience to participate.
Homeschooling and home education families from Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand are welcome.
Life and Creativity at Sea

Māori and Polynesian Workshops Onboard
Our family-friendly programme brings culture, creativity, movement and shared learning to sea. Workshops are welcoming, interactive and open to all homeschooling families.
Whakawhanaungatanga, Whakapapa and Pepeha
Explore whakawhanaungatanga, whakapapa and family history. Learn the basics of pepeha and discover meaningful ways to recognise and connect with family members and the relationships around you.
Poi Workshop
Learn how to make your own poi, followed by an introduction to basic poi movements and a simple poi waiata.

Siva Dance and Lei-Making
Experience the joy of Pacific movement by learning introductory siva dance steps. Families will also have the opportunity to make their own lei.

Hā Breathwork and Mindfulness
Pause, breathe and reconnect through gentle Hā breathwork and mindfulness by the ocean. This calming experience will be suitable for families and different levels of ability.

Toi — Māori and Polynesian Art
Participate in creative Māori and Polynesian art team-building workshops designed to encourage cooperation, confidence, expression and whānau connection.
History of Aotearoa and the Pacific
Explore stories, people and important moments from the history of Aotearoa and the wider Pacific through an engaging, family-friendly workshop.

Haka Workshop
Learn introductory haka movements, rhythm and expression in a supportive group environment while exploring the importance of unity, strength and collective participation.
All workshops are optional. Final times, age guidance and facilitator details will be published when the complete onboard programme is confirmed.
